In 2006, Stefan Zapotocky founded BAST AG with three branches, with Barbara Wösner-Sandbert. Dr. Zapotocky is the CEO of BAST AG Value & Invest Development, as well as BAST Investment AG, and Managing Director of BAST Unternehmensbeteiligung GmbH. From 1975 to 1988 Zapotocky was responsible for the management of strategic business planning and capital market issues for ERSTE BANK AG. From 1988 to 2000, he established  and led LB capital markets, Austrian Landesbank AG; and was also Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LB, later BA Industrieholding, and the BA Investment Bank. He was also head of the Department of Securities and Asset Management of BA-CA AG. In 2000, he was appointed to the Board of Wiener Börse AG. He was also part of the Supervisory Board of ÖIAG, Vienna and Capital Life Insurance AG, Liechtenstein.
